Most vehicles these days have sufficient acoustic insulation installed during production. However, if more is required, we can offer the following:
SAPT220
Spaced layer Sound Barrier Mat for the bulkhead separating the engine and the transmission hump and floor of the vehicle throughout. SAPT220 Sound Barrier Mat is designed to reduce engine noise and road noise penetration. To further reduce engine noise, an acoustic bonnet pad can be fitted and for this we can supply
A self-adhesive, totally fire resistant sound absorbing foam black in colour. This acoustic insulation is also available 25mm thick and both without a self-adhesive backing if preferred.
A mineral loaded Deadsheet Sound Damper Pad that can be used to reduce the resonance produced by steel panels prior to installing any other insulation. However, we do not recommend this sound insulation is installed beneath bonnets or inside doors. Bonnets get too hot in summer and doors allow water ingress which can affect the stability of the product. SBM5 Deadsheet is a mineral loaded sound insulation that does not require gluing. It works best simply used on the floors and laid directly onto any steel panel and can easily be removed should it be necessary.
Below is an extract from an email received from a satisfied customer.
Dear Sir / Madam
A short thank you for solving my problem of how to quieten my old series Landrover. With fitting a 2.5 TDI diesel engine the noise inside the cab was a little loud. After watching a demonstration for deadsheet on u-tube I was impressed. Bought a few sheets, put them in the footwells, seatbox and rear wheel tubs. Didn’t stop there, I bought some of your self adhesive fire retardant foam ( SA12 FR SA ) and put that in the roof, panel sides and inside the doors. The noise level has dropped from both the engine and bodywork vibration. So thanks again Sound Service for a very reasonably priced product. Believe me it does the job you stick it on, it stays on, it’s quiet and looks good.

Van bodies and floors are often uninsulated and create a lot of noise and vibration within them. The floors of vans can be sound insulated with our Acousticel M20AD matting which can be bonded to the floor with our Sta-Stuk Sprayable Adhesive or simply loose laid. This soundproofing is heavy enough to just sit where it is placed. M20AD is a recycled rubber product that presents a hard wearing and durable surfacebut due to its open cell structure, will allow dirt contamination and so could be difficult to clean. Therefore, we recommend that a board is bonded or loose laid on top of the M20AD to make the floor more durable.
The interior bodies of vans can be a problem and can create a lot of rattle and resonance. This can be relieved by adding our sound absorbing foams that are easy to cut and fit and are self-adhesive for ease of application. Plain versions are also available if self-adhesive is not required. Click here for more info.
