DESCRIPTION
The kit is designed to upgrade normal lightweight internal doors and so not suitable for externally fitted doors. The kit includes 2 x SBM5 sound proofing sheets for bonding to the door leafs, a full set of door frame seals including the threshold. Heavier doors and fire doors do not need to have sound barrier mat added due to their existing heavy weights so it is not necessary to use them in those instances.
The kit includes
6 x 1m Self Adhesive frame seals for the sides and top
1 x 2m Centre seal (to be cut to size on site)
2 x 1m Threshold seals (to be cut to size on site)
2 x 1m Threshold contact strip (to be cut to size on site)
2 x Soundproofing mats (1.8m x 1.2 m)
1 x Bag of screws
1 x Can of Sta-Stuk aerosol contact adhesive
1 x Set of DIYinstructions
Just ordinary tools are required for fitting and the kit includes everything necessary to improve the soundproofing of the doors without any need to remove the door leafs from the frame.
Once the sound barrier mat has been glued to the doors it is imperative that it is covered with a thin wooden panel screw fixed to ensure the barrier mat remains fixed and to finish off the door. The glue supplied will only provide a temporary fixing so it is advised the wooden panel is fitted without delay and should be fitted as the final door finish.
