As this product is produced from recycled vehicle tyres, sometimes foreign objects such as stones may be incorporated in the panels. So long as these are not big enough to penetrate from one side of the panel the product can be used as normal with no adverse effect on the acoustic qualities of the panel.
The illustrations below show how the M20AD System will improve the sound insulation of stud partitions.
The acoustic performance of the stud partition details above show the estimated difference of three different stud walls with and without M20AD sound insulation applied. The acoustic performance of any wall may vary from room to room so should only be used as a guide.
The drawing of the wall above is a detail of a soundproofed wall that had been independently tested with the M20AD acoustic insulation allpied to one side. The test showed the soundproofed wall had an sound insulation value of 48dB DnT,W+Ctr which far exceeds the requirements of Part E of the Building Regulations for the control of airborne noise through separating walls. This makes the M20AD product the ideal solution to bring walls separating stairs and hallways into Part E compliance with a minimum increase in wall thickness.
